Penang Hawker Food

Penang always offer a large selection of her hawkers food. A must while travel to Penang is Hokkien Mee (prawn mee, above) and Char Koay Teow (fried koay teow noodles, below).

The New World Park hawkers centre, in the 60s, this place was the entertainment heaven which housed an amusement park, theater, fun fair, food stalls etc. After years in the stage of neglect, it was converted to one of the top tourist attractions on the island.

The famous ice kacang (shredded ice), formerly this was just outside the New World Park at the roadside stall at Swatow Lane.

That same stall (ice kacang) is now at the centre of the hawker area.

Their Rojak (local fruit salad, left) is also not bad and worth a try.

Dinner time, why not go by the Pulau Tikus hawker centre by the wet market.

Pork noodle soup, top. The Penang fried Hor Fun, right.
